Pro-Rata Salary Calculator
Job adverts usually quote the full-time salary. If you’ll work fewer hours, your pay is pro-rated in proportion. Enter the full-time package and your hours to see your actual salary, FTE percentage and pro-rata holiday.

The pro-rata formula
Pro-rata salary = full-time salary × (your weekly hours ÷ full-time weekly hours). A £30,000 full-time salary at 22.5 hours against a 37.5-hour week is £30,000 × 0.6 = £18,000 a year, or £1,500 a month before tax.
The fraction — 0.6 in that example — is your FTE (full-time equivalent). Employers use the same ratio for holiday entitlement, pension contributions and most other benefits.
Pro-rata holiday entitlement
Part-time workers get the same 5.6 weeks as full-time colleagues, scaled to their pattern. If the full-time entitlement is 28 days and you work 0.6 FTE, your pro-rata entitlement is 16.8 days.
Remember that bank holidays count too: if your days off happen to include Mondays, your employer should make sure you still receive your full pro-rata share of bank holiday leave.
